New Owner in Northern New York
POTSDAM, NY – Pro Fleet Care is delighted to announce that Joe Van Ells has joined their dealer network as the new owner of their Northern New York dealership serving the St. Lawrence region. Joe purchased the dealership from his long time friend David Fullerton who has owned and operated the Pro Fleet Care dealership since 2013.
“David and I met while working on the Volunteer Fire Department,” explained Joe. “I had been watching him develop the Pro Fleet Care business and I was impressed with what I had seen. Over the past few years, I would work with David in his business when he needed help. As time progressed, I purchased part of the business from David becoming his partner. When the opportunity presented itself to purchase the remaining interest in the business, I jumped at it. Our clients love our products, processes and the ease of doing business with us. I am glad that David sold the business to me and we continue to be the best of friends.”
“COVID has dealt fleet owners a difficult hand,” added Greg Lawrie, President of Pro Fleet Care. “Some fleet owners have been struggling with declining incomes, while others are having a hard time purchasing new vehicles due to shortages caused by manufacturing issues, which means in either case they need to make their fleet last longer, which is what we do.”
In 1984, Bob Lawrie developed the mobile rust control industry when he started treating vehicles with a specially formulated rust protection coating in order to stop them from rusting. Bob’s clients started to realize a savings of $6 for every $1 spent on the system, as they no longer were dealing with body rot and parts failure due to corrosion. “We know that our owner/operator system combined with our great products and application has created demand for our services,” said Lawrie. “Customers can spray their vehicles for as little as $150 per year, allowing them to keep their vehicles for as long as they like and without the fear of their vehicles rusting out. In a period of ten years, a customer would spend about $1500 to spray a car on our program with no body rot. Meanwhile, it is unlikely to get a body job for $1500 and even if you do, the rust will be back within a year or two.”
Demand for Pro Fleet Care’s services will continue to increase regardless of the state of the economy for three reasons: 1) the price of vehicles continue to increase, making them less attainable; 2) people are unsure of where the economy is going so they are looking to keep the vehicles they have instead of replacing them; and 3) local and state agencies have moved from using rock salt to use liquid salts that stick to vehicles causing them to corrode faster.
